Natural Tie: For the past thirteen years, the women of Ceres have had a special friend. Each Tuesday after the meetings, the Ceres ladies take turns taking a mentally disabled woman to Taco Johns for Taco Tuesdays. She is also invited to chapter events such as our Family Day and Founder's Day, as well as potlucks and other unity events with the Ceres women. Pop Tab Drive: In the spring of each year, Ceres sponsors a pop tab drive throughout the Greek community to contribute to the Ronald McDonald House. The winning chapter earns a pizza party, and the pop tabs are donated to a local Ronald McDonald house. Adopt-a-Highway: Ceres cleans up a portion of highway near Elkton each semester as a part of the Adopt-a-Highway program through the Department of Transportation. Women's Abuse Shelter: The women of Ceres regularly donate clothing, blankets, and other goods to the local Women's Abuse Shelter. Relay for Life: Relay for Life is the national philanthropy of Ceres Women's Fraternity. The SDSU chapter of Ceres is participating in the SDSU Colleges Against Cancer Relay for Life which will be held April 20 - 21, 2007. Children's Miracle Network: The UPC holds an annual Dance Marathon for the Children's Miracle Network. Almost every Greek chapter on campus participates in this event. This year it is February 24th and lasts from 10 am to 10 pm. All of the money raised is given to the CMN hospital in Sioux Falls.
