The First Annual Life Sciences Graduate Research symposium is being organized by the SDSU Student Chapter of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the SDSU Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences on Friday August 8th, 2008 in the student union at SDSU.

All graduate students expected to participate in the event. All students and faculty members are cordially invited to make this event a success. 

The symposium will consist of oral presentations by SDSU graduate students in Life Sciences disciplines as well as a keynote address presented by Dr. Cheryl Zimmerman from the University of Minnesota.

The categories may be related to Life Sciences that includes but not limited to:

  •  Pharmaceutical Sciences

  •  Dairy science/ Probiotics

  •  Chemistry/ Biochemistry

  •  Veterinary Sciences

  •  Food Sciences/Nutrition

  •  Biological Sciences

  •  Agricultural Sciences

  •  Biotechnology

Each presenter is asked to give a 10 minute PowerPoint presentation followed by a 5 minute question- answer session. Prizes will be awarded for first and second place winners.

Please refer to the instructions for guidelines for abstract submission.

Kindly submit the abstract as soon as possible.  The abstracts are due August 4. 

We hope to have students and faculty from a wide range of disciplines at SDSU participate in the symposium, and all interested students are encouraged to submit an abstract.
